NORTH TEXAS DISTRICT
Junior Bible Quiz
JBQ stands for Junior Bible Quiz. JBQ = FUN! In a fast-paced race to the buzzer, two competing teams try to earn as many points as they can as they answer questions about the Bible and its teachings. All questions and answers come from the official Bible Fact-Pak. Competition is limited to elementary-aged children, but anyone - child or adult - can earn awards in Junior Bible Quiz.
Welcome to the 2015-2016 JBQ quiz season! We are gearing up for what we hope will be the best year ever. School has begun and our quizzers are eager to get their hands on a buzzer and start having fun with their friends again. How can you get your church ready for the new quiz year? Start by introducing kids to the excitement and fun of quizzing, gather up a few adults to help run the matches, and then register your team!
We are excited to be able to offer a superb training opportunity for every coach in the North Texas District. Coach Jack Spoerner, one of the winning-est coaches in the nation, has put together a set of videos that are sure to help any coach, rookie or veteran, be the best coach they can be. Each church of the North Texas District needs to set aside a full day to watch these videos together. They are guaranteed to help you improve your Junior Bible Quiz ministry. Find out more about this opportunity!
All North Texas District officials must complete an online certification process.
Officials set the tone and keep the order of each quiz match. Well-trained and godly officials can help make a difficult situation much easier. To make sure your officials are well-trained, give each official a copy of the (free!) Official JBQ Guidelines (updated September 2015). Then, have each official take the online officials' test* to make sure they can apply the guidelines correctly. Let's set a goal to have the most awesome officials in the country!
If your officials are learning the questions along with the children, then have them take the JBQ Seals tests and register them for the North Texas District's awesome "Circle of the Sword," honoring the best officials around!
*NOTE: You will need to contact your Area Coordinator for the password for the test - OR YOUR SCORES WILL NOT BE SAVED.
Did you know that there are several high-level awards that quizzers and adults can earn? That's right! Although Junior Bible Quiz is often thought of as a team activity, the national Bible Master program recognizes individual, non-competitive achievement for those who master each of the point-levels in the Bible Fact-Pak. In our North Texas District, we also award a 101 Club patch to those quizzers who have learned each of the quotation questions. Adults who learn the Fact-Pak questions and also master all the competition rules are honored with Circle of the Sword membership. Find out more about these awards and have your area coordinator send in your information so we can honor you at our upcoming District Finals and list your name on our "Honors" page! Find out more about these awards here....
Question. Question #1 for 30 points. Is all the Bible inspired?
Answer: 2 Timothy 3:16
"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful
for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness."
That is just one of the nearly 600 questions and answers that children
memorize in order to compete with each other through the ministry of
Junior Bible Quiz. Because we believe that all the Bible is inspired
of God and is useful for training, we are happy to be a part of
this fun-filled, exciting children's ministry.
