GUIDELINES
Both new and experienced JBQ coaches need to read through the Official Guidelines at the start of each season. Download and print your set - and make a lot of notes on the pages! If you have questions about what a guideline means, ask your church or area coordinator.
Good coaches explain the guidelines to their quizzers as well. No team wants to lose points because a quizzer didn't understand the rules!
TRAINING
Former coach of Clearcreek Christian Assembly in Ohio, Jack Spoerner led a nationally-awarded Junior Bible Quiz ministry for many years. Now he shares his best techniques with us in North Texas through a set of wonderful videos. You will learn a lot from Jack!
Contact your church or area coordinator for the password needed to access these videos. Find your area here. Contact information is on the front page of your area site.
COACHING BEGINNERS
Beginning quizzers often need a lot of help to master the ten-point Bible Fact-Pak questions and answers. One of our North Texas coaches solved this problem by writing a little book full of the Bible stories included in the ten-point questions. Her son (quizzing on an older JBQ team) illustrated the book so the little ones could color the pictures as they learned. The quizzers and their families loved the book and those first-graders were undefeated at the end of the year. Now the book is available to all North Texas JBQ churches.
