Q: Please explain the tournament format.

A: Teams will be placed in four fairly balanced preliminary divisions and will quiz a complete round robin within their divisions.  On Saturday morning, after the preliminary rounds are finished, the top teams from each prelim division will be placed into the "Platinum" division, the next teams into the "Gold" division, the next teams into "Silver", and the remaining teams into "Bronze."  Each of these divisions will then play another complete round robin.

The winner of the "Platinum" division will be considered the North Texas District's 2008-2009 champion.  That team and the teams in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place in the "Platinum" division will be qualified to compete at the South Central Region's JBQ Finals in April.
