Please do not bring ANY TYPE OF NUTS (peanuts, tree nuts, etc.) onto the GT campus. We have at least one quizzer with a severe nut allergy. If you or anyone in your party touches nuts before coming to the campus, please wash your hands. Thank you!

NOTE: Quizzers may move UP to a level higher than they quizzed at during regular season, but they may not move DOWN to compete at District Finals.
NOTE: Only Advanced Level teams may qualify for Regional or National Finals.
Registration deadline is

Register your team today!
A: All teams must supply at least two qualified officials.
Registration deadline is MARCH 7. If you need to add an official, please do so ASAP.
Minimum age of officials:
|Quizmasters - at least 18 years old|
|Judges - at least 16 years old|
|Score / Time Keepers - at least 13
(and have competed in Bible Quiz for a few years.)
When your officials have been certified, please register your team's officials.
A: All teams must eat on-site. There is no nearby restaurant capable of seating any church's team in the time frame we have. You may bring your own lunch or purchase a delicious, inexpensive lunch provided by the host church.
Order deadline is MARCH 18.

A: The 2014 District Finals tee shirt is a wonderful way to reward your quizzers for a job well done this year. Quizzers love to look back at their shirts years later and remember each District Finals they quizzed at!
Our theme for 2014 is "Walking in the Light" will be printed in yellow on the front of the black shirts. The back of the shirt will have the names of all teams who have registered for District Finals by March 7.
We are not taking any more orders for tee shirts at this time, but
we will have a few extra shirts for sale in the Family Room
at GT Austin on a first-come, first-served basis.
A: In order to be fair to all teams, no child under quizzing age may be in quiz rooms. We encourage families to leave their young children home with a grandparent, a friend, or sitter. We were not able to find 10 children needing childcare this year, so the church will not offer any childcare. We are sorry for any inconvenience.
A: There are three main motel areas fairly close to the church. NOTE: MoPac (Loop 1) is currently under construction and traffic will be VERY CONGESTED. Please allow extra time for travel, especially on Friday. Doubling your estimated time is a good idea for Friday.
1. Here is a map showing motels near the Loop 1/Highway 183 intersection. There are many good motels in this area.
2. Here is another map showing motels near the Parmer Road exit of I-35. These motels are good, too. NOTE: They have just begun working on this entrance/exit ramp. Expect delays!
3. Here is one more map showing motels near I-35 and FM 2222 (which turns into Northland Drive.)
IMPORTANT! DO NOT STAY
near the Rundberg exit of I-35! This
is a heavy crime area and is not safe.
A: PLEASE NOTE: The area surrounding GT Austin is undergoing a great deal of construction, so this map of nearby restaurants may be out of date. ALL restaurants near the church are very small and may not be able to accommodate an entire team (including family members and officials.) PLEASE do not attempt to eat dinner near the church on Friday night or go out to a restaurant for Saturday lunch. The roads near the church are heavily congested, the restaurants are tiny, and you will be late for quizzing.
A: Teams in each division will play a complete round robin within their own level. Ties will be broken as determined by head-to-head competition.
The winner of the Advanced division will be considered the North Texas District's 2013-2014 champion and will be qualified to compete at the National JBQ Festival in June. That same team and the advanced-level teams in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th places will be qualified to compete at the South Central Region's JBQ Finals in April.
A: Each division follows its own schedule for the weekend. When we get final numbers for each division, we will create a definite schedule, but here is a tentative master schedule for all.
A: Yes! Our 12th annual Bible Master competition is open to any quizzer who has earned his or her Bible Master seal. The preliminary round(s) will take place after team check-in on Friday. The top Bible Masters from the preliminary round will play the championship round in the sanctuary in front of the entire North Texas group. Will you be the winner of the coveted 2014 Bible Master trophy? Sign up for the competition during team check-in. Here are the official rules.
Q: Will there be a 10-Point Cup competition?
A: Yes! The quizzers who answered the most 10-point questions during the weekend's competition will be able to compete for the 10-Point Cup before our awards ceremony. Quizzers who qualify for the competition will be notified after regular quiz rounds end. Here are the official rules.
