Section 5: Coach's Appeal

48:  Question. Quotation Question:  Where did the...  (interruption; "Interruption" is called by the quizmaster)

Fact-Pak completed question and answer:    ...universe come from?   Genesis 1:1 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.

Quizzer response:  " ...world come from?  In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.  Genesis 1:1.  Oh, I meant, where did the universe come from?  Can I still say that?  The universe."

Ruling:

A.  Correct B.   Incorrect C.   JUDGMENT  Section IV.A.3,  Section IV.B.5

Reasons:  The judge will have to determine whether "world" is the same, in essence, as "universe" (most quizmasters would probably rule that "no"). The fact that the quizzer said "universe" after answering the question correctly is not germane since the question must be completed in essence PRIOR to any part of the answer being given.

49:  Question: What is the longest book in the Bible?
